About Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Although he lived one of the most thoroughly chronicled lives in American history, Martin Luther King, Jr. did not reflect deeply on his saga in St. Augustine in 1964. King was arrested and jailed there. His life was threatened on multiple occasions. He did allow that St. Augustine was the “most lawless” place he had encountered, and that events there constituted a “magnificent drama.”
